Sonic Colors: Ultimate launches September 7 on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Hopefully, the developers behind Sonic Colors: Ultimate manage to fix the issues in this upcoming patch and deliver the Sonic game fans wanted from the start. The video game industry has a number of examples of games that have gone on to be successful after a terrible launch such as the procedurally generated No Man’s Sky. While a game such as Sonic Colors: Ultimate launching with a number of bugs is disappointing for fans, at least developers have the opportunity to continue to patch the game after release to improve the experience for players. Social media manager of Sonic the Hedgehog Katie Chrzanowski reassured fans that the issues regarding the game were being looked into as well. In addition, they instructed those that discover any future bugs to submit them directly to SEGA support. In a recent tweet from Blind Squirrel Games, the developers acknowledged that Sonic Colors: Ultimate needed fixing and told the community that they were listening to feedback. Some of the glitches that fans have been experiencing include visual problems with level clear screens not displaying properly and players falling through the floor of stages However, the game still contains a number of legitimate bugs that require a patch. It’s worth noting that even though a number of players reported that the Nintendo Switch version was practically unplayable, it appears that some of these graphical problems were created in a Nintendo Switch emulator in an attempt to damage the remaster’s popularity. RELATED: Sonic Colors: Ultimate on Switch Has Big Downside Compared to Other Versionsĭespite releasing on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, the large amount of the glitches seem to be centered on the Switch version of the game. Obviously, this isn’t desirable for the developers at Blind Squirrel Games, and as a result, they have promised to fix the game in an upcoming patch. Unfortunately, the game seems to be riddled with bugs since launch. This remastered edition of the 2010 Wii title aims to deliver fans of the franchise an updated version of one of Sonic’s best 3D adventures. While the full release of Sonic Colors: Ultimate isn’t until September 7, fans who purchased early access have already started to check out the game. Recently, the developers behind Sonic Colors: Ultimate have been dealing with a number of post release problems as well. However, this doesn’t always happen as the video game industry has many examples of disastrous launches. After months or even years of building anticipation from the fanbase, it's critical that the game delivers the experience fans had been expecting. Tldr If you played Sonic Colors on the Wii, I wouldn't bother.A new video game's launch is important to its success. I'm sort of worried about Sega considering this game feels like a cash grab and PSO2:NGS, their new mmo, is insanely monetized and losing players constantly. It felt nothing like unleashed and the 2D segments were slow and tedious. I'm not mad or anything but these stages don't connect well and I'm very off-put by quickstep and normal running styles. I just bought and completed Sonic Colors Ultimate and wow, I got caught up in all the positivity and bought yet another subpar 3D Sonic title. Sonic world, i cannot stand because their is no flow. The day time stages were amazing, but the werehog was peak cringe. When Sonic Unleashed happened i was just confused. I'm one of those weird sonic fans who's obsessed with the Archie comics and i frequently replay the 2D games as I love them. Never played it on the Wii, and I have had a general disdain for 3D sonic games since heroes happened. Even if the game ran flawlessly, there's still so much wrong going with this game that I couldn't recommend the game to anybody unless you're a kid who never played the original and doesn't have a Wii or a midly powerful computer in this day and age that could emulate it. Also, I dont think the remixes for the game are that great (some of them are good, but some others are really fucking awful imo), and the game doesn't even give you an option to switch between versions, which for a game in 2021 almost a decade out after Sonic Generations included an option to literally create your own soundtrack with any of the series music, it really reflects poorly on the level of polish in the game.Īgain, this is all bugs aside. The lighting engine is all over the place in this version. The bloom on Starlight Carnival is irritating to look at, as an example. Even with the bugs aside, I still always thought the visuals looked like ass compared to the first game. En su lugar recibimos de nuevo Sonic Colours, pero esta vez remasterizado para encajar mejor en sistemas actuales (PC, PS4, One y Switch). I'd argue just play the original on either Wii or get it on Dolphin before you consider getting Ultimate.
